Capers Jones pixSoftware demographics and software work patterns show interesting changes over the past few decades. A study in 1990 noted 116 software occupations but only 5 involving quality and none involving risks or cyber-attacks. An updated study in 2016 noted 205 total software occupations of which 32 were involved with risks, cyber-attacks, and quality.
