Job seekers of all levels are constantly confused about where to look online for the next new opportunity. It’s important or you’ll find yourself spending hours in front of the blue glowing screen with little return on your investment of time.
Here are some interesting statistics for Indeed.com that I just learned from a training class. Statistics came from Indeed after careful market research.
Job seekers know that using Indeed.com is a smart way to find a job posting – quickly. But did you know that Indeed spiders out to 40,000 sites including Google, Apple and Dice?
JOBS AT INDEED
Indeed also has a resume search engine where employers can pay $1.00 to reach out to qualified candidates. Before last Friday, the ability to search for a candidate was free. However, while the actual search is free, to get the candidates contact information you’ll have to pay.
Buyers beware: you will pay your dollar and email the candidate, but it doesn’t guarantee they will respond. For example, if the candidate is working or doesn’t want to respond to your email, you’ve just spent your dollar with no ROI.
However, it may be worth it.
Indeed has 341 million resumes. Career Builder has 193 million, followed by 61 million on Simply Hired. Monster lags at 48 million resumes.
An employer can sponsor their ad which means that their job will show at the top and at the bottom of the page a job seeker clicks on. Companies can also use free social media integrations to Facebook and Twitter to get the word out on their job.
Why else use Indeed?
Global Traffic!
Indeed goes to 50 countries in 20 languages and is shown in 75% of the world population. With 60 million unique users per month, this is the place for job seekers and employers alike.
If you are looking for diverse candidates, Indeed may be a good place to find candidates as well. Eleven (11%) of candidates that posted resumes are female, 12% are African American, 13% are Asian and 20% are Hispanic.
Still not convinced? On the indeed site, check out the success stories by Brinker, Aramark and KForce, a prominent recruitment firm. General Dynamics stated they hired 5 engineers in three months by posting their job on Indeed.
Indeed touts three traits that separate them from other job boards or search engines: Easy to use, targeted searches and cost effective.
Bottom line, is if I were a candidate, I’d have my resume there!
