As the year comes to a close, I’m shocked how many new clients I’ve picked up. All employed. All ready to start their job search now and not wait until January, along with New Years resolutions.
You’d be surprised where people find people.
We all know the usual suspects: Dice, Monster (who is going under and being gobbled up by…) Career Builder.
All of us post on there and then look on Indeed or Simply Hired.
Check.
But how about niche job sites? Are they worth it?
Depending on your occupation, they just might be!
High executives or anything over six figures, definitely try The Ladders. Personally, I’ve found the caliber of candidates better there and have hired from this board. Yes, this does cost a couple of bucks, but it’s worth it and not a huge investment. The last two years I only posted on this board when I was looking for someone that was niche and frankly…expensive.
Here are some others. For the time it takes to get online and post your resume, this extra step certainly can’t hurt.
- AllHealthCareJobs
- AllRetailJobs (for retail management jobs)
- ClearanceJobs (for those with a security clearance looking at government jobs)
- CollegeRecruiter.com
- CrunchBoard (an alternative to Dice. Lots of tech jobs here)
- DiversityJobs
- EnergyFolks (for those in the energy industry)
- FinancialJobBankfl (for those in financial services)
- FlexJobs (great for finding flex or part time work)
- ICrunchData (big data jobs)
- InternMatch (for intern jobs)
- ITJobPro (IT jobs)
- JobsInlogistics (for supply chain, COO, operations jobs)
- Juju (NOTE – not a job board, but a massive portal that can connect you to recruiters, boards and websites)
- Mashable (didn’t know they had a job board, but they do)
- 6Figures (for six figure jobs)
Lastly, I can’t explain this but check out Beyond.com. Many candidates are coming from that board, and I’m not sure why. Regardless, if THEY are there – you want to be there.
Don’t miss an opportunity!
Happy hunting for 2015!
