In June 2018, the International Organization for Standards (ISO) is expected to release a revision of ISO 19011, its Guide to Auditing Management Systems. The final draft is out. In January 2005, the California Legislature authorized the state auditor to conduct audits of state agencies to determine those that are at risk. The rationale for the authorization was that identification and mitigation of these risk would improve government efficiency and effectiveness.
