Managing enterprises is far more complicated today than ever. The average life span of companies is plummeting. According to a CNBC.com article, Is Technology Killing Off Corporate America, “ . . .The average age of a company listed on the [S&P 500] has fallen from 60 years in the 1950s to less than 20 years now. . .” This was in 2017, prior to COVID and the evolution of technology and business models that has taken place over the last three years.
