#41 – MOVING FROM INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR TO LEADER – ELIZABETH LIONS

Elizabeth Lions PixEvery woman looks forward to the day that she gets the promotion, wears the new suit and takes on a leadership position.

She is told for years in her career that when she finally makes this quantum leap, she will have ‘arrived’.  Oddly enough, corporate America rarely supports nor trains their leaders, but instead promotes with a sink or swim attitude.

Most leaders – male and female – statistically learn on the job.  Only 10% go through a formal leadership training program.  Women however are flocking to leadership courses, seminars and books in droves, seeking information to crack the code.  Women are seeking knowledge and authentic power. #22 – NO ONE TAUGHT ME HOW TO FIND A JOB! – ELIZABETH LIONS

Elizabeth Lions PixFunny how this happens in life.  Parents, teachers and family friends dedicate their life to preparing you how to be successful, but sometime after college that education stops.

Which is why there was so much pandemonium in the Great Recession: people didn’t know how to find jobs, where to look or how to interview in a bad economy.  The trend continues today. Continue reading
