#79 – FLIGHT (THE MOVIE) AND RISK – UMBERTO TUNESI

Umberto TunesiFight is a very interesting if not a great film.  It has a first class director, lead actor and cast provide for its high quality.

There are however some points I feel the need to emphasize about the film.

First a little background from Wikipedia:

“The film stars Denzel Washington as Whip Whitaker, an airline pilot who miraculously crash lands his plane after it suffers an in-flight mechanical failure, saving nearly everyone on board. Immediately following the crash, he’s hailed a hero, but an investigation soon leads to questions that puts the captain in a different light.” Continue reading

It could also be translated that quality of life is more important than the span of life, the number of years you live.

Or that medicine’s task is not to add years to your life but the life to your years.

Umberto TunesiChristmas has just gone and the New Year has just begun.

Every year, in the western hemisphere, at least, best season’s greetings mean that we’ve come out from meals in overweight unhealthy conditions, and that the wishes for a happy, prosperous new year will turn out what they are, that is, wishes.

The two are closely related, that is overweight and new year wishes, because they both need a “diet” to be overcome. Continue reading
