Volatility is going to be with us for a long while.

This means more risk.  The good news for us in operational and technology risk management is lots of work and consulting opportunities.  This is from a survey conducted recently by the Society of Actuaries.  So, here are a few more data points:

• Survey:  Eight four percent of risk managers have C-level access.
  Editorial:  Risk is not going away.
• Survey:  Forty eight percent of risk managers were instrumental in avoiding risk.
  Editorial:  Risk knowledge is crucial for problem solving and decision making.
• Survey:  Thirty one percent were held accountable when a risk that had not been previously identified arose.
  Editorial:  Not good.  This means decisions without accountability.
